Kaustav Sur

Kaustav works with the Global Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at BNY Mellon and
currently leads the DEI efforts across India region. Currently, he is responsible for strategic
implementation of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Programs, End-to-End Project management
and drive DEI priorities as a business imperative by conceptualizing & maintaining a robust
diversity data management system.  He joined the bank in 2019 with about 8 years of
experience in designing and facilitating training/coaching for employees across various levels
from different industries and cultural contexts impacting many beneficiaries with strategies
for fostering a culture of learning, belonging and growth. An Electrical Engineer, who opted
to become a schoolteacher for grade 4,5 and 9 students in a low-income community school
post his graduation. He believes in challenging the status-quo by empowering people and
centers himself with integrity, humility, and hard work. His mission is to work towards
equipping people and enabling them to feel empowered to achieve their outcomes. He is
passionate about learning, people and culture. He is a big travel and sports enthusiast, and
his favorite movie is the Kung-Fu Panda series.
